Holidays between Rhine & Vines

We live in one of the most beautiful landscapes of Germany.

Rüdesheim - Rheingau - UNESCO World Heritage

It is worth to discover it in any season of the year. Find your favorite place in our home region.

Rüdesheim is today one of the most visited tourist destinations in Germany.

A unique landscape characterized by vineyards and the river Rhine is our home. In addition to  the lively Drosselgasse and the historical part of Rüdesheim, you shouldn’t miss a journey with the cable car to the national monument, a romantic boat trip and a visit of Musikkabinet. Each time of the year presents Rüdesheim in a different spot light. Thus you can make new discoveries in Rüdesheim.

Rheingau - a beautiful wine growing region

It is a curiosity of nature, which makes the river Rhine leave its general northerly direction and directs its course between Mainz and Rüdesheim from east to southwest. This guarantees sunny hills on the right river bank, which have been used already by the Romans for viticulture.

Today the Rheingau district is developed to a unique viticultural and cultural region. The soft hills in the upper Rheingau make way for the steep and imposing vineyards beginning in Rüdesheim. The combination of defiant castles, glamorous estates, timbered houses, spectacular monasteries, lordly palaces, successful wineries and atmospheric vaulted cellars turn the whole region into an exceptional garden. Germany’s most famous Riesling wines are grown here.

UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley

Since the beginning of the 19th century the Rhine valley around Rüdesheim is considered as the origin of Rhine romanticism. Already Victor Hugo, William Turner, Heinrich Heine and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe have been excited. The narrow Rhine valley is a breathtaking landscape between Rüdesheim and Koblenz with steep vineyards, castles, chateaus and historical villages. Since 2002 the upper middle Rhine valley is UNESCO world heritage. The heritage site offers sensational hiking tours, bicycle tours or boat trips around the famous Loreley.

The World Heritage Hosts are the official ambassadors of this region. This is a group of certified colleagues that guarantee quality and professionalism to a very high degree. We are an active member since 2007.

We enjoy drinking every wine sold under our label and identify ourselves with each wine we produce. They satisfy our stringent requirements for quality.

Our wines complement good food, are intense, elegant and age well, attributes that correspond to our idea of quality. Therefore the date of harvest by selective hand picking is always determined by the highest physiological ripeness and perfect health  of grapes. In conclusion, the desired balance, aromas and structure are more important to us than must weight. Extract and depth have priority to yields.

We consider wines as part of culture and life style and thus entitled to elegant, artful packaging. The influence of aesthetics and art on each label corresponds
to our feeling for the wine. The estate founded in 1880 by Bernhard Scholl and Albert Hillebrand as part of a wine merchant company has been owned by the Breuer family since the beginning of the 20th century.

We cultivate 33 hectares of vineyards in the best Rüdesheim and Rauenthal sites. 80% are planted with Riesling, the Rheingau's most traditional grape variety.

Today Theresa Breuer runs the family winery with determination and passion and follows her father Bernhard Breuer’s footsteps. www.georg-breuer.com
